Well, they did it !!
We're ecstatic to announce that Dolls Point are the All Age D Minor Premiers and Back to Back Premiers for 2016. This is the first side since the 1984-85 All Age A Reserves team to go back to back for the club. This team, however, had to do it by stepping up a division from E Grade in 2015.
Despite the final scoreline, All Saints proved why they were such worthy Grand Finalists and had actually beaten us twice in the two meetings during the season. T
The boys played a desperate Hurstville Glory who needed to win to stay in the semi final spot. However, Dolls Point wrapped up their Minor Premiership in emphatic fashion running out 5 - 1 winners in a decisive display. Well done to everyone in the team, in particular, in recent weeks to overcome players missing through injury, suspension and holidays. Congratulations and wish you all the best in the upcoming games. #2016 #Win #AAD
The opposition turned up ready to play and defied their lowly position on the ladder. The Dolls Point boys had to dig deep to salvage points from the game after going behind 0 - 1 shortly after half time. Dolls Point scored with about 12 minutes to go and created a number of chances looking ominously like they would take all the points on the day. However, Dolls Point had to settle for a 1 - 1 draw. #2016 #Draw #AAD
This time they weren't going to have it all their own way as they did in their first round clash with Lugarno. The Dolls Point guys took an early 1 - 0 win and kept that score going into half time. Seriously undermanned Dolls Point were still able to dominate possession and field position, unfortunately this did not convert into goals. Despite the constant pressure and wealth of possession were not able to find the killer blow to win the game. The game ended in a 1 - 1 draw,
The boys trekked across the St George area to Gardiner Park to take on Banksia Tigers. Their first round clash was a tight tussle ending in a 1 - 1 draw. This time the Dolls Point boys were able to get away to lead 2 - 0 at half time in a hard fought contest. However, their dominance through the middle was the difference between the teams and ended in a 3 - 1 win. #2016 #AAD #Win
The AAD boys have the mid season jitters, losing 1 - 0 to Forest Rangers. In the process having another player sent off for repeated infringements. Off to training to work out the kinks. #2016 #Loss #AAD
This was a fast paced frantic affair. Somehow in a match where the insults hurt more than the tackles, 4 players managed to get themselves sent off, unnecessarily. One from the opposition and three of our heroes from Dolls Point. Regardless, the choice of the black alternate strip reflected their petulant display and Dolls Point faced into their 3rd straight loss. Again they found better uses for the ball than their opposition but couldn't convert into goals. #2016 #AAD #Loss
The AAD side conceded an early penalty to be down 0 - 1 early in the match and went into half time still behind at 1-2. For the second week in succession weren't able to convert domination of territory and possession into goals. The opposition scrambled and made key tackles at crucial times to keep the Dolls Point boys at bay. #2016 #Loss #AAD
The AAD boys had their first loss of the season to the competition leaders. In a tough tight match, Glory took their chance late in the first half. The game was a battle of the midfield, and despite playing well the Dolls Point guys couldn't find a way through the Hurstville Glory. Despite the loss, they played reasonably well, just couldn't find the space in front of goal. #AAD #Loss #2016
The AAD boys came through in a tough battle with a formidable Rockdale team. Good passages of play through the middle from Andy and Josh gave plenty of opportunities and entertainment for the crowd. The boys at the back held strong and let nothing get through all day. A great hit by Joey in the first half in the top corner was cancelled out by a Rockdale counter attack that saw stand in goalkeeper Barbic get chipped on the halfway line (SOS Ruz) but Andy was able to draw a fo
