This loss was Rod's fault.
When he set up the field this morning, if he had only put the goal posts an 1 inch (2.5cm to you young folk) to the right, Jeff's thundering shot from outside of the box would have gone in off the post rather than rebound across the goal. We would have gone 1 up and found the momentum of the game much different.
As it were the boys conceded not long after that and were then playing a catch up game, playing under pressure. Going in 1 - 0 down at half time and having created a number of scoring chances, they were confident about getting the result. Unfortunately, they weren't able to find the breakthrough despite creating several chances and forcing their goalkeeper into a number of saves. The opposition were able to find another a couple of goals to bank the points from the clash.
